The HR Dept was started by Founder and Chair, Sue Tumelty (FCIPD & FAHRI) in order to provide local and personal, practical and pragmatic expert HR and employment law advice to small and medium sized businesses.

Having come from a corporate background, Sue found that the hardest part of setting up the business wasn't the HR side of things, but the business aspects and the marketing. So when the original Bristol office began to thrive she began to think about how she could help other HR professionals set up quickly and easily under The HR Dept brand. The HR Dept now has 60 franchisees across the UK supported by an expert head office team that are developing the brand and offering. 

Every year we conduct a customer satisfaction survey that we send out to all of our franchisees customers. Our results are always fantastic, this year 94% of our customers would recommend us and they scored our performance 9.3 out of 10. We also scored an exceptionally high net promoter score of 85.6.
